Chicago State University is storing valuable historical documents and information for the Black Metropolis Convention * Tourism Council

The board directors of the Black Metropolis Convention & Tourism  Council (BMC&TC) a 501c3 not-for-profit Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for the historic Bronzeville community and the broader south lakefront and south westside region of Chicago is both and humbled and honored to have had Chicago State University (CSU), under the supervision of Racquel Flores-Clemons, University Archivist/ Director of Archives, Records Management, and Special Collections pick up 43 boxes of BMC&TC/Bronzeville Visitor Information Center archival documents on community organizing, information technology, civic engagement, hospitality services, and cultural heritage tourism development. The valuable archival documents will be made available to the general public to enable the next generation of civic entrepreneurs and community organizers to collaboratively develop the broader south lakefront region of Chicago, as a premier African American oriented heritage tourism destination featuring multiple sites and attractions.
